I have written at length already about how wonderful this show is and now I can narrow it down to my favorite character: Big. To my mind Big would be in good company along side the Muppets I grew up with. In fact he would probably make them tea and have dinner warming in the oven for them.
I performed the right arm of Big and controlled his eye blink and eyebrow mechanism. Big is a live arm puppet which means the puppets arms are essentially a glove and the lead puppeteer can only perform one while voicing and performing the character. It takes enormous co-ordination in tight quarters to synchronize the performance and bring the character to life.
Close to a hundred puppets were built for this pre-teen series. I performed the characters Kika, Jenny Biggs, Mom, Skye, and Leanne as well as countless background puppets. The episodes were inspired, very funny and challenging. All of the puppeteers worked as a team from lead to background bringing depth of character to the whole cast. It was a ton of fun!
I played the characters Angel, Mickey's Mom and many other additional characters. Apollo's Pad began as an improvised web series. Eight longer format episodes were also made that aired on Teletoon at Night in Canada.
Each of the characters on Wilbur were performed by three puppeteers. I was on team Ray the rooster and we performed together entirely on blue screen interacting with computer generated backgrounds that we could see on the monitors and could interact with in real time. It was a surreal but every rewarding experience.
Voiced characters Maya the bat and Esther the fox for the U.S version of this delightful stop motion animation series.
Re-voiced from Spanish, I voiced the lead character Agatha as well as Informetti, Luz, Gatalina and Valeria for the animated movie Gaturro. This theatrical release movie was based on a popular Argentine comic book.
I played the character Hibiscus, Jeff's hippie chick girlfriend.
